There are 2 Rick Smith’s of Urbandale! One of them had what could of been the most asinine letter to the editor I have ever read [5/9 “Gosnell isn’t like other health providers”]. His letter is in defense of the abortion industry, and he also wants to distance himself from the more famous mass murderer “Doctor” Kermitt Gosnell. I wanted to write dear Rick about his letter, but it didn’t seem right to send one to the wrong ‘Rick Smith’. Chances are, the other Rick Smith isn’t an idiot.
In his letter, Rick Smith keeps referring to abortionists as “women’s reproductive health providers”. Monsters do have a way of salving their conscience. Perhaps Smith’s most asinine line was, “… comparing caring, clean, legal, professional reproductive clinics to an illegal, back alley, inhuman butcher is purely absurd.” How so? In what ways are they different?
Not everyone from Urbandale is an idiot. The day before Smith’s letter, David C. Hammel, also of Urbandale had yet another ‘keeper’ printed. His was titled, “Breaking eagle eggs vs. killing unborn humans”. He makes the point that breaking an eagle egg will get you a $100,000 fine and a year in prison. Killing human babies will get you a subsidy from the taxpayers and the vote of half the nation. What a country.
[In what sense is an abortionist a “reproductive” clinic? They aren’t allowing the women to reproduce. That’s the point. Killing, is not reproducing, it’s killing. Zero reproduction takes place.]
