“Town rues its war sacrifice”

“People question what their sons fought for in Iraq”.

[These are excerpts from the June 16 article in USA Today from Hollidaysburg, PA.]

“A vein of sadness flecked with anger runs through this south central Pennsylvania town, much like the black fingers of coal that lie deep within the surrounding Allegheny foothills.”

“Your sacrifice is for what?”, asks Rick Flegal. “The veterans that gave the ultimate sacrifice- right now it seems worthless.”

“I don’t think it was worth it”, Hilling says flatly, his voice flat and bitter. “Why did we go over there and sacrifice all these lives?” Hilling asks.

“We’ve lost enough people”, the plant manager says, “We’re done.”

“People I think are just fed up.”

[You would never know it from the media, the people who control that seem to have a different agenda than America. – Jim Roach]
