So says Kathie Obradovich in the Sunday Register. She writes this panicked plea to the Republican Party warning them (sincerely no doubt) of the folly awaiting them if they nominate Donald Trump! (gasp) The key sentence in her piece was reciting Scott Walker’s exit line, “I encourage other Republican presidential candidates to consider doing the same so that the voters can focus on a limited number of candidates who can offer a positive, conservative alternative to the current front-runner.”
Walker’s idea was that they could gang up (by getting out) on Trump. Obradovich seemed to have the same idea in today’s column. The whole tone and use of the word “haunting” foretold an impending doom for the Republican Party if they voted wrong. Huh? How can you vote wrong? Your vote is your opinion. You can’t be wrong with your opinion, it’s your opinion. You own it. There is no right or wrong, it just ‘is’. I realize you are fretting so, that Republicans might not nominate a “mainstream candidate”.
Kathie Obradovich isn’t the first liberal to display such condescending arrogance. Thomas Sowell wrote a book about it, ‘The Vision of the Anointed’. His point was that liberals feel they know what’s best for you. That they know how to run your life better than you do. It is this arrogance that leads Obradovich to warn Republicans against voting for Trump. Think about that. Would you ever tell someone they voted “wrong”? Who the hell would do that?
To Obradovich, the Register and all the rest of the establishment, they won’t admit what is obvious to the rest of the country. It isn’t working. It hasn’t been working. The rich are getting richer, and the poor are getting poorer. There is no more upward movement. Succeeding generations are worse off than the preceding one. 40 year-olds are living with their parents. We’ve spent trillions over the past 15 years fighting wars for people who hate us.
What jobs that haven’t been shipped overseas, are being fought for with people flooding into the country illegally. A $19 trillion dollar debt that will never be paid off, but whose interest payments will forever be a drag on the standard of living. In the rare instance when these corrupt politicians DO get voted out, they simply move into million dollar lobbying positions that they were formerly selling favors to.
So yeah, Obradovich, you, and the rest of the keepers of the status quo are full of crap. And we the people are revolting. We are going to do our best to elect a reality show TV host or a Democratic Socialist. We say screw you. We say the system has failed. We say you and your stupid paper have covered for these sons a bitches for too long. 2016 is our shot, and we are going to take it.
The apple cart needs to be turned upside down, ripped apart, ran over and pulverized.
