The existence of the Establishment – the ruling class – is not supposed to be discussed

“Those who formally rule take their signals and commands not from the electorate as a body, but from a small group of men. This group will be called the Establishment. It exists even though that existence is stoutly denied. It is one of the secrets of the American social order… A second secret is the fact that the existence of the Establishment – the ruling class – is not supposed to be discussed.”

— Arthur S. Miller
George Washington University Professor of Law

[Whether it is called the “establishment” or “insiders”, America most certainly has a ruling class, an oligarchy. Wilson knew it, FDR knew it, any American paying attention knows it. Just looking at the pedigree of who’s who in government shows it. The number of presidents, supreme court justices and state department officials, that come only from Harvard or Yale, defy random chance. How does that reflect competition and fair representation of all segments of America? It doesn’t of course. But until some cataclysmic event causes the American voter to remove their head from their rectum, we have what we have. – Jim Roach]
